Innovation is the background of Guangdong publishers. In recent years, in view of the development bottlenecks such as scattered internal educational publishing resources and weak competitiveness of mass publishing, the Group conducted in-depth research and fully demonstrated, and resolutely implemented the reform of intensive management of educational publishing, specialization, characteristics and brand development of mass publishing by the end of 2020. On the one hand, adhere to the idea of intensive development, and integrate the scattered teaching materials and supplementary resources into Guangdong Education Publishing House for unified management, so that the scale of the Guangdong textbook matrix is more advantageous and the structure is more reasonable. On the other hand, we should adhere to the development ideas of specialization, specialization and branding, and push professional publishing houses to break the inertia of thinking and path dependence, select the main track according to their respective resource endowments, focus on the main attack plate and the main product line, and intensively cultivate them to create more influential "classics" and "masterpieces handed down from generation to generation".
In the three years since the implementation of the reform, Ping An Pi has won the "Five One Projects" award in the 16th session of spiritual civilization construction, six projects including A Dictionary of Chinese Dialects have won the China Publishing Government Award, 12 projects including Building a Modern Economic System Series have won the Eighth China Excellent Publication Award, 12 topics including Two-cycle Outline have been selected as the key theme publishing projects in Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, and four books including Blood Blood have been awarded the title of "China Good" in the year. The market share of the national book retail market has gradually increased. The book brand product line "Gravitation" has been selected into the list of the top ten brand communication cases of the year, and the cultural supply capacity has been significantly improved. In order to serve the high-quality development of literature and art in the new era, Huacheng College of Literature came into being, and on March 25, 2023, the establishment ceremony of Huacheng College of Literature and Art was successfully held. — Chen Xiaoming, a famous writer and critic, was hired as the first co-dean of Huacheng College of Literature, and eight outstanding young writers and critics, including Wei Wei, Ge Liang, Li Juan, Chen Qiufan, Cai Chongda, Di ‘an, Yang Qingxiang and Chen Peihao, were signed to publish their creative and publishing plans, creating a large IP of Huacheng College of Literature, with a spread of hundreds of millions of people, which became a highly praised and media in the literary world.

In order to carry out the inheritance and development project of Chinese excellent traditional culture, carry forward Lingnan excellent traditional culture and continue the local context, with the care and support of the Central Propaganda Department, the first professional ancient books publishing house in South China — — Guangdong Lingnan Ancient Books Publishing House was formally born. It implemented major publishing projects such as Lingnan Library and Lingnan Culture Reader, strengthened the collation and publication of Lingnan historical documents, and enhanced the influence of Lingnan culture. Build a new pattern of popular science development, set up Guangdong Yuekepu Group under the guidance of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, take the industrialization development of popular science as the basic principle, and take the construction and operation of "Yuekepu" public service platform as the core task to promote the scientific quality of the whole people.
Based on the location advantage, we will implement the strategy of driving major industrial projects, strive to create a new growth pole for industrial development, and promote the construction of cultural industrial parks such as Guangzhou International Cultural Center, Southern Media Center, Xinhua Cultural Center and Lingnan Cultural and Creative Industrial Park with high standards. Guangzhou International Cultural Center (Southern Media Plaza), located in Guangzhou, is 320 meters high, focusing on building a new benchmark of Guangzhou urban culture, a new highland of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area cultural creativity and a new cluster of international cultural enterprise headquarters, which is expected to be capped in 2024; Located in Zhaoqing, Lingnan Cultural and Creative Industry Park (covering an area of 260 mu) plans to build a demonstration park of cultural and educational industry integration in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and a national publishing industry base integrating production, research and development, exhibition, experience and supporting facilities. Construction started smoothly in March 2023, and the first phase of the project will be completed and put into use by the end of 2024.

The first self-developed "Guangdong Xiangyun Digital Textbook Application Platform" has more than 13 million users and 16,000 schools in the province. Promoting the construction of new media matrix and creating a new model of internet marketing are important ways to enhance the power and influence of publishing. In May, 2022, with the influence of Guangdong Xinhua brand, we actively integrated the upstream and downstream resources of the book industry chain, invested in the establishment of Guangdong Xinhe Media Co., Ltd., opened nearly 70 accounts on various new media platforms, and created a short video matrix with Tik Tok as the main factor, supplemented by video numbers and Aauto Quicker. Set up the "Xinhua YEATION" live broadcast base to enter the live broadcast business in all directions. In April 2023, the live broadcast base achieved a good result of selling 15,000 single products and one million yuan in one day. The book "Comic Pupils’ Psychology", which was customized and published through Internet channels, has sold over 14 million copies in the form of short video and live broadcast, and has become a phenomenal bestseller.

Guangdong Publishing Group firmly grasps the historical opportunity of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s construction, gives full play to the advantages of geographical proximity, cultural blind date and language communication between Guangdong and Hong Kong and Macao, constantly improves the cultural and educational exchange and cooperation mechanism with Hong Kong and Macao, deepens the expansion of exchange and cooperation fields, and strives to enhance the cultural identity, national identity and national identity of young people in Hong Kong and Macao.

In promoting the implementation of publishing projects, Guangdong Publishing Group and Hong Kong United Publishing Group deepened their strategic cooperation, launched the "Greater Bay Area Cooperative Publishing Plan" with 15 publishing houses in Hong Kong, and selected 64 books as the first phase of cooperative publishing projects. At present, they have published books such as Seeing China: Up and Down Five Thousand Years in Cultural Relics and Finding the Light of Children (edited by Huo Qigang), among which Seeing China: Up and Down Five Thousand Years in Cultural Relics has been published in recent years.
In promoting the publishing in the Bay Area to a higher level, Guangdong Publishing Group and China Daily jointly established a think tank for international publishing and communication in the Bay Area, set up an expert advisory committee for international publishing and communication in the Bay Area, actively explored a variety of think tank activities, and constantly created a Cantonese-style boutique suitable for international communication.
