Tea is for drinking, not for "frying". What will happen to Pu ‘er, which has soared 100 times?

CCTV News:Pu ‘er tea is welcomed by many consumers. However, there are great differences in the price of Pu ‘er tea in the market, ranging from tens of yuan a catty to tens of thousands of yuan a catty, which makes people puzzled. At present, the Pu ‘er spring tea in Yunnan is basically picked. What is the output and price this year?
The price of low-end Pu ‘er tea decreased instead of rising.
At Chayuan Square in Pu ‘er, Yunnan Province, the reporter saw that at 7 o’clock in the morning, tea farmers in various tea areas had already transported their own raw tea here and sold it to buyers who came from all over the country.
Li Ronggui, a tea farmer in Jinggu County, Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: Last year, the factory of spring tea was two tons, and this year it was only a little more than one ton.
Fan Zhenying, a tea farmer in Mojiang County, Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: The output is half that of last year (why is it so much?) The rain is not good this year.
The reporter learned that since February this year, there has been basically no rain in the local area, and the drought has led to a significant decline in tea production.
Ke Aihua, Chairman of Brown Tea Farmers’ Professional Cooperative in Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: Like last year, more than 17 tons of dry hairy tea was produced, but this year’s output has decreased. This year’s output should be around 12 tons, a decrease of almost one-third.
However, the reporter found in the tea market that this year’s buyers came less than in previous years, and the demand was not great. The price of tea did not rise, especially the low-end tea, but the price declined slightly.
Tang Wenzhong, a tea farmer in Simao District, Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: Last year, it sold better. (How much did your tea cost this year?) This year, it was more than 60 yuan a catty, and last year it was more than 70 yuan.
Chen Jishun, a tea buyer in Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: It’s still a little light, not that it’s very hot. Unlike last year, the price may be a little lower.
Chen Jiawei, Secretary-General of Tea Association of Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: Modern tea garden tea, which we call terrace tea (less than 50 years), is relatively lower in price, and the price is not very high. Like ordinary arbor trees (50-100 years), it is still stable, and the price has not changed much compared with last year, that is, ancient tea (more than 100 years) has increased by 10% to 30%, and it may be higher in some places.
The price of capital speculation is upside down, and the ancient tea tree is trapped in excessive picking.
Although the price of low-end Pu ‘er tea has dropped slightly, some high-end Pu ‘er tea has ushered in a big increase this year, and even the price of new tea is more expensive than old tea. What is the reason? In Chayuan Square, Pu ‘er, Yunnan, the reporter met Tan Lifeng, the shopkeeper who specializes in Icelandic Pu ‘er. In the innermost part of her shop, there were 357 grams of tea cakes, the price of which was 54,000 yuan in 2016, 57,000 yuan in 2015 and 60,000 yuan in 2014.
Tan Lifeng, head of Yunnan lincang Fitness Tea Co., Ltd.: This is from 2016. For tea like this, it is only 50 pieces a year at most, and the price will be adjusted a little, because it is impossible to say that new tea is more expensive than old tea.
Generally speaking, the longer the age of high-end Pu ‘er tea, the higher the price. However, the reporter found that the price of fresh leaves rose sharply this year, which led to the upside down of new tea and ancient tree tea in previous years.
Wang Hongbo, Vice President of Lancang Ancient Tea Co., Ltd., Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: This is (Icelandic ancient tea) in 2015, and the whole can (280 grams) only sells for 3980 yuan, but in 2018, one of our tea cakes, 7 taels (350 grams), will cost 30,000 yuan.
It is understood that since 2010, the average price of ancient tree tea in Laozhai, Iceland, has risen from 300 yuan to 500 yuan per kilogram to 38,000 to 42,000 yuan per kilogram in 2018, and this year it has exceeded 60,000 yuan (per kilogram), an increase of over 100 times.
Before picking Pu ‘er tea this spring, the famous Pu ‘er tea in Mingshanzhai was stir-fried. Insiders said that capital speculation not only disrupted the price system of Pu ‘er tea, but also brought a more serious consequence, that is, excessive picking of ancient tea trees. In the famous local ancient tea producing area, many ancient tea trees have died, and the leaves of the tea king tree are sparse.
On the left is a protected ancient tree, lush, and on the right is a little bald.
Zhou Tianhua, chairman of Lancang Mangjing Binla Tea Farmers’ Professional Cooperative: This tea tree, which is half dead, has no leaves and is over-harvested.
According to the insiders, on the one hand, because of the high price of tea, tea farmers will pick more; on the other hand, tea farmers will give the picking right to foreigners at a high price, and foreigners can pick as much as they can in order to recover the cost, which is extremely harmful to ancient tea trees.
Shao Wanfang, former Dean of Pu ‘er Tea College of Yunnan Agricultural University: No matter who packs tea trees, you should not only ask for them, but also care for them and protect them. The key is sustainable development in the future.
The traceability system of Pu ‘er tea with low threshold and unknown standard needs to be established urgently.
The price of Pu ‘er tea is polarized seriously. Faced with this situation, how are the days of tea factories, and how do they deal with it? Ai Fu, the person in charge of a small tea factory in Jingmai Mountain, Pu ‘er, Yunnan, told the reporter that the ancient tree tea has not been sold in the past two years, and the price has risen, but the price of young tree tea has not gone up. Last year, the tea was not sold out. In order to improve the processing technology, they replaced new equipment this year.
Ai Fu, director of Lancang Jingmai Aifu Tea Factory in Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: If we don’t work hard, we will be eliminated in the future. The most important thing is that we should improve our quality.
In a local large-scale tea factory, workers are pressing raw tea into tea cakes. The person in charge of the company told reporters that in recent years, the company’s revenue and profits have steadily increased. This year’s new tea, some varieties have not been listed, and they have already booked it. In order to attract young consumers, they are constantly introducing new ones.
Wang Hongbo, vice president of Lancang Ancient Tea Co., Ltd., Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: It doesn’t need to pry, break, get, saw and so on, so it can be soaked by adding water, which is as simple as drinking a drink.
According to statistics, in 2018, the tea area of Pu ‘er was 1.648 million mu, which was the same as that of the previous year. The output of crude tea was 116,500 tons, up 1.5% year-on-year. The comprehensive output value was 25.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.22%. Although the industry is generally improving, at present, there are still problems of labor shortage, insufficient brand building and low degree of industrialization. The industry is dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises and tea farmers, with low entry barriers and lack of unified standards. In order to solve the problem of shoddy goods in the market, Pu ‘er is also cooperating with major manufacturers to promote the establishment of a traceability system for Pu ‘er tea.
Chen Jiawei, Secretary-General of Tea Association of Pu ‘er City, Yunnan Province: If the QR code is scanned, you can see which mountain this tea belongs to, from the base of picking, which picking, to the processing of fresh leaves, and then to the final tea product, which can be seen and monitored.
